**Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a student-**centred and collaborative teacher to join the team at Kitscoty Jr./Sr. High School. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about supporting junior high learners, building strong relationships, and contributing to a positive rural school community.

Specific Position Details

Start Date: August 26, 2026

End Date: June 29, 2027

Location: Kitscoty Jr./Sr. High School – Kitscoty, Alberta

Assignment: Junior High English Language Arts and Social Studies

Contract Type: Probationary, Part-Time

FTE: 0.625

Specific Position Duties

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong instructional practice in junior high Humanities, including English Language Arts and Social Studies
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, applying Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Métis, and Inuit
  • Experience with, or comfort using, Google Classroom and educational technology to support student learning
  • Flexibility and a willingness to teach other subjects as assigned

Qualifications and General Duties

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
  • Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
  • The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting
  • A commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement as an educator
  • A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset

About Kitscoty Jr./Sr. High School
