ABOUT THE ROLE
As Content & Design Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame’s content creation and digital presence.
This role is focused on graphic design, video editing, and motion content, helping bring CSHF’s brand, artists, and programming to life across social media, digital platforms, and live events.
Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Lead and Programs & Communications Coordinator, you will contribute to the creation of high-quality visual assets that support major national initiatives including the Induction Ceremony, Song & Score Week, and the Breakthrough Songwriter Award.
This internship is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual looking to build a portfolio in the music and cultural sector while working on nationally recognized events and campaigns.
WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation & Design (60%):
- Design and produce digital assets for social media, including posts, stories, reels, and promotional graphics
- Create and edit short-form video content (e.g. TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
- Develop motion graphics and simple animations to support campaigns and announcements
- Assist in creating visual content for key initiatives (Induction Ceremony, Song & Score Week, Breakthrough Songwriter Award)
- Support the development of templates and branded assets to ensure consistency across platforms
- Edit photos and video content captured at events or provided by partners
Social Media & Digital Support (20%):
- Assist with content scheduling and publishing across platforms
- Support the coordination of content calendars and campaign rollouts
- Monitor trends and suggest creative ideas for engaging, platform-native content
- Help track basic performance metrics and engagement
Event Content Capture & Support (10%):
- Capture behind-the-scenes content (photo/video) during events and activations
- Assist with real-time content creation during key moments (live posts, stories, etc.)
- Support post-event content wrap-ups and asset organization
General Coordination & Administrative Support (10%):
- Provide administrative and coordination support as needed
- Assist with organizing digital assets, files, and content libraries
- Support internal documentation and team coordination
WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Graphic Design, Media Production, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Strong interest in music, pop culture, and digital content
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Video editing and motion graphic skills (e.g. Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut, After Effects)
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and content formats
- Creative eye for design, layout, and storytelling
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Motion design / animation experience an asset
- Photography and videography skills an asset
- Experience with WordPress or website updates an asset
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset
