About the role
Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to join the team at Irma School for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time probationary teaching position includes a Jr./Sr. Humanities and Physical Education assignment serving students in Grades 6–12.

Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience and/or training in collaborative team environments
- Experience in a K–12 teaching environment considered an asset
- Experience and/or training in Division II/III English Language Arts and Division IV Social Studies considered an asset
- The ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments that support student success across a range of grade levels and learning needs
- A commitment to promoting student wellness, engagement, and school culture through physical education and broader school involvement
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
- The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
