About Us
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Southern Region, is seeking a detail oriented, reliable, team player to join our team as a permanent full-time Maintenance Mechanic at the Regina Provincial Correctional Centre.
The Opportunity
As a member of a service-oriented team, you will provide general repairs and preventative maintenance on various buildings, systems, and equipment within the Correctional Centre. Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible to:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance work orders and minor construction projects, as well as assisting in reactionary repairs to all major building systems;
- Keep records and logs of operation, repairs and materials and perform entry into a computerized maintenance system;
- Repair and maintain plumbing equipment including fixtures, valves, taps, lines and all associated devices;
- Repair and maintain heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment;
- Assist in water treatment/wastewater operation of the facility; and
- Ensure facilities and equipment are safe and meet operating standards.

As our successful candidate, you will:
- Be responsible, flexible, and adaptable to meet new challenges in a correctional centre environment;
- Be organized and able to work well under tight deadlines;
- Be thorough, conscientious, and attentive to detail to ensure quality work;
- Be able to work shift and callback hours;
- Have knowledge of tools, equipment and regulations governing trades work associated with electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, and water treatment/wastewater systems;
- Be able and willing to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labor, heavy lifting and climbing; and
- Have knowledge of theories, principles and practices related to the building trades including plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, control systems and HVAC.
To qualify for this position, you must possess valid Fireman Boiler Operator certificate and be able to obtain a Level One Water Treatment/Wastewater Treatment Certificate. Trade-related experience would be considered an asset for this position.

Hours of Work**:** C - SGEU Regulated 37.33 - one day off every three weeks
