About the Role
We are currently looking for a Solutions Support Specialist to fill a 14 month vacancy in our Solutions Team. Reporting to the Solutions Operations Manager this role will focus on the effective operation of Semex Solutions services within its network of distributors. This position requires a solid understanding of dairy herd management with a focus on maximizing genetic performance and an understanding of genetic breeding strategies in the dairy industry.
What you will do:
- Support the administration of the Semex Solution products, monitor and report the usage of products within distributorships.
- Provide Semex staff and clients with technical support and product updates for Semex products and genomic testing services.
- Promote the value of Semex Solutions suite of products including SemexWorks, Optimate, Elevate and myStrategy with both staff and clients.
- Help with assessment, testing and launch of new Semex products.
- Work with third party suppliers to ensure successful integration of their products within Semex and network of distributors.
- Support the administration of the Semex Solution products, monitor and report the usage of products within distributorships.
- Assist in training sessions with Semex staff and clients for the suite of Semex Solutions and products.
- Setup and monitor data collection pipelines to connect farm management software to the Semex Solutions network.
What you’ll need to succeed**:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science or Agricultural Business - new grads welcome!
- A passion and strong understanding of dairy genetics
- Ability to problem solve and learn new technologies quickly
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools

Work Location & Minimum Pay Rate
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in our Guelph location. This role is full time (35 hours / week) on a 14 month contract, and offers a minimum starting wage of $23.75 / hour with potential compensation enhancements based on applicable experience and qualifications.
