POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of the Director of Procurement & Supply Chain, this role is responsible managing and coordinating all shipment documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies. The role involves preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, monitoring freight movements and liaising with custom brokers and internal departments. The administrator also maintains accurate records and resolves any issues related to import/export processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma in Business Administration and/or 3+ years of related experience in customs and import/export; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3+ years of import/export customs administration.

• Industrial manufacturing experience and an understanding of production processes and procedures.

• Working knowledge of export laws, customs regulations, and trade agreements to ensure compliance and minimize risks.

• Experience with intercompany transactions.

• Advanced working knowledge of ERP systems and Excel formulations.

• Strong collaboration, and the ability to partner with multiple departments within the organization.

• Motivated and able to work in a constantly changing environment.

• Exceptional organizational skills.

• The ability to multitask and balance several tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the importing and exporting administration for Albarrie group of entities.
• Responsible for completing all custom clearance documentation (commercial invoice, CUSMA, etc.) for shipments being exported within North America and internationally.
• Coordinate all import and export activities, including customs clearance by communicating with suppliers, customers and customs agents to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of all import and export transactions, while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with Albarrie custom brokers for custom clearance and invoicing.
• Collaborate with procurement and logistics team to identify and implement process improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Classify products, technologies, and services under the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
• Review and approve invoices from customs agent on a periodic basis.
• Collaborate with the procurement and logistics teams to identify and implement process improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Work closely with Shipping, Sales and Customs Broker to resolve customs/border crossing issues expeditiously.
• Provides input on how to troubleshoot any problems with the procurement and logistics.
