About the role

THE OPPORTUNITY

BBE seeks an experienced Accounts Receivable Team Lead to join our Accounting team. This role is ideal for a seasoned AR professional with supervisory experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who takes pride in building efficient, professional processes.

The Accounts Receivable Team Lead will oversee day-to-day accounts receivable operations, ensure timely and accurate collections, and provide leadership to the AR team. This role requires a strong balance of hands-on AR expertise, people leadership, and professional communication with both internal teams and external clients (75% hands-on, and 25% supervising).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively participate in BBE’s QHSERT programs and systems.

  • Supervise and mentor the accounts receivable team, providing guidance and support.

  • Perform and oversee the following end-to-end AR cycle, including:

      • Invoicing
      • Cash applications
      • GL account reconciliations and journal entries
      • Collections
  • Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce overdue balances.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalated AR matters.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, etc.) to resolve billing and payment issues.

  • Generate and present AR performance reports to senior and executive leadership teams.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards

  • Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic decisions.

  • Drive process implementations to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the AR function

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounts receivable experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of AR processes.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Professional communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and executives.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics NAV is an asset.
