Job Family Group: Data Analytics & Reporting

  • This is a 6-month contract and will require 4 days a week in the Toronto office

The Manager, Cards Analytics is responsible for aligning with P&C strategic initiatives that entails substantial work with MIS Reporting, business performance analytics, sales tracking, and ETLs. This person will be developing and delivering reports, analysis, insights, and dashboard/automation pertaining to Credit Cards. The incumbent will use their experience and knowledge of business intelligence tools/technology and understanding of the business to ensure that user requirements are satisfied and maintain various forms of reports (cubes, ad hoc reports, models). The candidate will also be supporting the group goals of automation and self-serve.

  • Builds various reporting dashboards using the most appropriate data extraction, data cleaning and data visualization techniques.
  • Provides value through insights, reporting and data visualization techniques. Selects, configures and implements analytics solutions for consistency and repeatability.
  • Researches and applies continuous improvement in data visualization by identifying trends and patterns to transform raw data into actionable business insights.
  • Works with different teams, management and stakeholders to enhance the usability and aesthetic appeal of data analytics solutions deployed in the organization.
  • Translates business needs to technical specifications and evaluates existing data visualization systems in order to improve them.
  • Develops data visualizations of "large" amounts of data that facilitate the intuitive presentation of data to decision makers.
  • Documents data flow, systems and processes to improve the design, implementation and management of business/group processes.
  • Develops tools and delivers training programs for use of reporting tools and self-serve analytics by non-analytical end users; may include delivery of training to audiences.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge

  • Strong Knowledge with Databases and Database tools
  • Strong knowledge with the MS Office Suite
  • 5+ years’ experience in a financial role
  • Credit Cards knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of BMO internal processes and source systems is a plus
  • General knowledge of the financial industry and the Canadian/U.S. economy

Advanced level of proficiency:

  • A University level background in an analytical discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, operations research, or engineering.
  • Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
