THE OPPORTUNITY
Western Forest Products is currently seeking fully qualified Log Truck Driver to join our Timberlands operations located on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC. We have vacancies available at the following locations:
Current Opportunities:
- Port McNeill, BC
- Woss, BC
What We Offer:
- United Steel Worker (USW) union wage rate of $43.83
- Health & Dental Benefits provided through the union
- Pension plan provided through the union
- A safe work environment
Shifts: This position is currently on a 5x2 shift, 5 days on and 2 days off, Monday to Friday with overtime required based on the needs of the business.
This role is considered safety sensitive; all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Fully qualified truck driver with minimum 2 years of experience in the past 5 years with BC Coastal Logging;
- All applicants must have a valid Class 1 BC driver's license and be able to provide a driver's abstract;
- Preference may be given to applicants holding a valid Advanced First Aid certificate.
Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
- Excellent safety record and strong work ethic;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Accountable and dependable.
