What You'll Be Doing You’ll play a key role in the Data Protection Services team, an innovative group offering a range of brand-new services at the enterprise level. These services include Data Element Level Protection (DELP), Test Data as a Service (TDaaS), Data Discovery and Remediation (DDaR), and Digital Certificate Lifecycle Manager (DCLM). As a Databricks Software Developer for DELP, you will work individually or lead a small development team to collaborate with business partners, QA, vendors, and AO partners. Your responsibilities will include integration, configuration, development, implementation, troubleshooting, delivering services with various internal application teams, and providing production support.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview. How You'll Succeed

  • Project Delivery: You focus on project timelines and deliverables. You will participate in the delivery of data protection service integration to ensure alignment with stakeholder goals and security requirements. This includes providing guidance on protector installation, configuring network connectivity, deploying data protection policies, and verifying audit logs in collaboration with consumer teams.
  • Ownership to Grow & Deep-Dive: You enjoy taking on challenges and are self-driven to explore new technologies and solutions. You will master a variety of data protection integration patterns, including Application Protector, Immutable Application Protector and Oracle Protector while continuing to explore innovative technologies and solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: You are passionate about collaborating effectively with consumer partners and stakeholders across CIBC. You will develop a unified data protection onboarding process by standardizing the onboarding process and maintaining a playbook to help new consumers adopt our services efficiently.
  • Communication: You understand that communication is the key to delivering strong results. You will participate in multiple meetings with consumer application teams, Enterprise Architects, Project Managers, and stakeholders, providing support with high-level diagrams preferred, from solutioning to delivery.
  • Production Support: You understand that good production support leads to building long-term relationships, and you are mindful of client care. You will participate into production issue troubleshooting and apply resolution solutions as needed, collaborating with multiple external teams.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience. At least four years of experience in data engineering, with a minimum of two years of hands-on experience using PySpark and SQL on Azure Databricks. Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable data integration solutions across multiple source systems — such as Azure SQL Database, APIs, and file systems. Required technical expertise includes Databricks Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, user-defined functions (UDFs), cluster optimization, and automated data pipeline development. Experience with Azure integration services and cloud infrastructure management. Experience with Unix scripting and enterprise tools such as HashiCorp Vault, GitHub, Artifactory, Jira, and ServiceNow is preferred.
  • You're driven by collective success. You know that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one. You understand the power of a team that enjoys working together to create a shared vision.
  • You act like an owner. You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results.
  • You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision-making.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, and/or a related field.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.

What CIBC Offers At CIBC, your goals are a priority. We start with your strengths and ambitions as an employee and strive to create opportunities to tap into your potential. We aspire to give you a career, rather than just a paycheck.

  • We work to recognize you in meaningful, personalized ways including a competitive salary, incentive pay, banking benefits, a benefits program*, defined benefit pension plan*, an employee share purchase plan, a vacation offering, wellbeing support, and MomentMakers, our social, points-based recognition program.
  • Our spaces and technological toolkit will make it simple to bring together great minds to create innovative solutions that make a difference for our clients.
  • We cultivate a culture where you can express your ambition through initiatives like Purpose Day; a paid day off dedicated for you to use to invest in your growth and development.
  • Subject to plan and program terms and conditions
