Manager, Press Room

Part of a dynamic, award‑winning team at the global corporate headquarters of one of the world’s most iconic luxury hospitality brands, the Manager, Press Room serves as the business lead for the Press Room ecosystem. This role stewards editorial quality, metadata and taxonomy governance, publishing workflows, and press kit excellence - safeguarding standards while enabling regional and property innovation at scale. Working in close partnership with the Manager, Marketing Technology (technical lead), this role aligns business requirements with platform capabilities (Contentful CMS, Search, Image Library/DAM) to deliver a seamless, search‑optimized experience for media and to future‑proof operations through the Press Room renovation in 2026 and beyond. This role also supports global performance governance through training, reporting, and property enablement programs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Press Room Content Operations & Editorial Governance

  • Manage day‑to‑day publishing, including review, editing, formatting, and quality assurance for new and updated content (press releases, bios, evergreen storytelling, factsheets).
  • Enforce editorial, legal (per guidelines provided around other brand name mentions in press releases, hotel naming conventions etc.), and brand standards; fact checking, link/URL validation, image checks, and translation crosslinking to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain disciplined metadata and taxonomy practices (tags, categories, locations, topics, language) to strengthen discoverability and search performance across corporate, regional, and property content.
  • Provide ongoing editorial counsel and support to Corporate PR and Communications, Regional PR leads, properties, and PR agencies to maintain consistency while enabling local storytelling.

Press Kits, Property/Lob Hubs & Multimedia

  • Support properties in the building and maintaining of corporate, property, and line‑of‑business press kits; publishing of factsheets, bios, social links (as provided), and related resource directories.
  • Coordinate with Image Library/DAM teams to source, name, tag, and refresh photo/video assets.
  • In collaboration with the Image Library/DAM team, monitor for expired or incorrect imagery and manage replacements; support multimedia availability in journalist‑ready formats (e.g., 16:9, 9:16, 4:5); reinforce appropriate credits as required, and adherence to usage rights guidance.

Platform Enablement & Technical Coordination

  • Serve as the business lead for Press Room operations; partner closely with the Manager, Marketing Technology (technical lead) on roadmap alignment, sprint priorities, issue triage, and UAT.
  • Identify, log, and help diagnose platform issues; contribute to solution design, test cases, accessibility checks, and release notes.
  • Support integration considerations across Contentful (CMS), Coveo (search), analytics, and Image Library/DAM to keep systems stable, modern, and scalable.
  • Support budget forecasting for ongoing operations expenses (post Press Room renovation project in 2026)

Workflow Governance, Localization & Training

  • Maintain global SOPs, custom style guides based on brand guidelines, governance checklists, and RACI alignment for content creation, approvals, publishing, updates, and archival.
  • Support ongoing workflow innovation towards decentralized publishing model (potential future state) with governance guardrails, coach property and regional teams on metadata usage, templating, and QA expectations.
  • Deliver training, onboarding, and periodic refreshers for publishers and content owners; host webinars, produce toolkits, and maintain easy‑to‑use enablement materials.

Search Optimization & Insights

  • Support the PR Performance & Insights function in the development of KPI frameworks (e.g., downloads, search visibility, top content, subscriptions, engagement) with insights informing editorial guidance.
  • Implement and maintain structured metadata, schema, sitemaps, canonical/redirect logic, and GEO/SEO enhancements to improve discoverability and AI‑driven search readiness.

Content Migration & Launch Readiness (2026 Renovation)

  • Support KPI‑led content migration and readiness for the renovated Press Room: selection, transformation, tagging, QA, and approvals.
  • Support training and ‘teach‑to‑fish’ programs so properties can independently migrate and maintain priority content post‑launch.
  • Contribute to UAT, go‑live checklists, hyper care processes, and warranty tracking to ensure stability at launch.

Vendor & Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with design/development partner, Contentful (CMS), Search vendor, analytics, and other partners to unlock enhancements, maintain SLAs, and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Manage alignment with Technology, Innovation & Data; Corporate Data & Analytics; Web & Security; Brand; and Legal/Procurement on integrations, security, contracts, and platform/value tracking.

Risk, Compliance & Brand Protection

  • As part of publishing workflow and oversight, uphold usage‑rights guidance, disclaimers, and legal review protocols; coordinate with DAM/Image Library team to ensure proper credits and licensing across assets and downloads.
  • Identify risks (e.g., outdated or inaccurate materials, broken links, non‑compliant translations) and drive corrective action through relevant stakeholder engagement with urgency.

What You Bring:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in PR content operations, newsroom/publishing management, or digital communications governance within corporate or agency environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Strong editorial judgment and copy‑editing skills; able to review, refine, and quality‑check press releases, bios, evergreen storytelling content, factsheets, and multimedia content for brand accuracy and tone.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise CMS (Contentful preferred), taxonomy and metadata standards, multilingual linking, component‑based templates, and structured content operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with technical teams and vendors to diagnose issues, design workflow improvements, test features, and support stable, scalable platform operations.
  • Comfortable working across global, matrixed teams; skilled in stakeholder enablement, training, and change management for new processes and tools.
  • Understanding of SEO/GEO best practices, accessibility standards, and search behaviour of media audiences; luxury hospitality or luxury sector experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive; able to produce clear, executive‑ready materials.
  • Familiarity with search technologies (Coveo) and SEO/GEO best practices, including schema, redirects, and structured metadata.
  • Comfort with image/video libraries and DAM practices; understands ratios, captions/credits, and licensing/compliance requirements.

Annual Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 CAD

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
