Position Purpose and Summary
The Graduate Student Engagement Coordinator works as a member of the Student Life division to advance the mission and vision of the University to graduate students across its multiple campuses. This role oversees initiatives focused on connecting with all graduate students and developing strategies to promote their integration and success within the community. The Graduate Student Engagement Coordinator provides engagement and ministry experiences for all TWU graduate students with particular focus on graduate students at the Langley campus.
Key Areas of Accountability
To work within the department of Student Engagement, key Student Life collaborators, and other stakeholders across the university to ensure demographically effective, relevant learning and host ministry, and wellness-related experiences to achieve community-building goals and student engagement support. This includes facilitating the following.
- Strengthening our identity as a Christian institution and seeking to build a flourishing graduate community through the promotion of the mission, vision, and values of Trinity Western University as expressed through TWU’s strategic plan;
- Assist the Student Engagement department in building on momentum gained from previous year initiatives and accomplishments during a key time of growth and window of missional opportunity;
- Provide support to the Student Engagement department on graduate student specific initiatives such as weekly team meetings, special events, Student Leader training, and Orientation.
- Provide support for graduate student retreats and day trips throughout the year.
- Support the Associate Director of Graduate Student Engagement in the recruitment, selection, training, and mentoring of graduate student leaders.
- Support the expansion of the Student Leadership program.
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment the effectiveness of all areas of graduate student engagement.
- Provide support for undergraduate student orientation where needed.
- Provide support in overall student connection and engagement by modelling personal care and friendship evangelism where opportunities present themselves.
- To collaborate with to the discipleship efforts of the Campus Ministries department with a focus on graduate students.
- Provide mentorship to students and student leaders.

Standards & Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, a Master’s Degree would be an asset.
Experience
At least one year of leadership in a Christian ministry or significant involvement in student ministry required. Previous ministry to university students (including international) in the area of discipleship/outreach ministries preferred.
Duties and responsibilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.
