Job Description South Country Co-op is hiring an Agro Summer Student on a full-time temporary basis, onsite in Lomond, AB.
South Country Co-op is currently seeking a Agro Summer Student to join our Agronomy team. This temporary position will be based at our Agro Centre located in Lomond, Alberta. If you are customer focused and have completed your first year of Post-Secondary Studies in an Ag Business, Agricultural science, or related education at a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution within Canada, then we want to hear from you - Apply online today!
What You’ll Do
- Provide outstanding service through various communication channels
- Carry out blending of fertilizers and crop nutrition products
- Delivery products to farm and other locations safely and efficiently
- Receive, distribute, and load/unload fertilizer and crop protection products
- Maintain environmental compliance standards
- Perform inventory control, ordering, and data reporting through in house programming, as assigned
- Assist with sales of crop inputs, nutrition products, and farm equipment through the development and maintenance of customer and supplier relationships
- Adhere to department standards, equipment maintenance procedures, and housekeeping and asset protection/safety guidelines
- Adhere to marketing strategies and follow policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Are You are looking for a career in Agriculture and Customer Service and:
- Completed your first year of Post-Secondary Studies in an Agribusiness, Agricultural science, or related discipline.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Have a passion for the agricultural industry.
- Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in Ag Business, Agronomy, or related discipline.
- Self-motivated and highly organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- You are physically able to lift 50lbs.
- Punctual and are willing to work all shifts scheduled including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Have a Valid Driver’s license.
- You are honest and trustworthy.
