About The Role

The Associate, Business Analyst (L1) position is based in Waterdown, Ontario, and is part of the Manufacturing/Repair Operations team at L3Harris WESCAM. The role involves spearheading the development and implementation of process improvements and technical solutions within manufacturing and repair environments. The successful candidate will actively participate in creating new business systems, maintaining existing ones, and researching emerging technologies to optimize operational efficiency. This position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate workshops, gather business requirements, and translate them into functional specifications. The role offers an excellent opportunity to grow technical skills, particularly in Business Analytics, Project Management, and ERP systems, while contributing to critical defense manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerBI, MS Project, and Visio Experience with T-SQL, MS SQL, and relational database management systems Knowledge of Agile methodologies; certification is an asset Understanding of business systems architecture and ERP solutions, preferably Tier 1 ERP applications Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies (e.g., Problem Solving, FPA, PFMEA, SPC) Experience working in aerospace, manufacturing, or repair environments with Product Data Management tools Working knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100, RFID, UID, ISO9000 Project management experience or designation is advantageous Must be eligible for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements and security clearance Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational, facilitation, and presentation skills Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams and departments

Responsibilities

Lead and support the implementation and continuous improvement of manufacturing and repair business systems, processes, and policies Facilitate workshops to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into use cases and training materials Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely development, testing, and troubleshooting of solutions Analyze operational data to identify issues and develop effective solutions Generate and compile monthly operational metrics reports for management review Act as a subject matter expert for Manufacturing Execution Systems, ERP tools, and related applications Develop business cases for new projects, including scope, resources, budgets, and deliverables Collaborate with users, management, and other business units to investigate issues, recommend changes, and facilitate user training Maintain system documentation, user procedures, and standard work instructions to ensure quality compliance Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams such as Service, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance Create and review functional software design documents; work with developers to ensure technical solutions meet functional requirements Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality delivery of updates and process improvements Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and executive sponsors Diagnose root causes of technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions
