Position Description:
Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Senior Manager, Alumni & Digital Engagement is responsible for the strategic planning, development, optimization and execution of digital engagement strategies across the marketing funnel with common goals in alignment with the colleges strategic commitments and vision. The Senior Manager works in alignment and in collaboration with the Director, Marketing and the Managers, Divisional Marketing and Digital Experience in support of corporate and academic campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Engagement
- Accountable for the strategic development of cross-channel, integrated digital campaigns across the conversion funnel in support of the colleges broader strategic commitments and vision.
- By leveraging and analysing data insights, the incumbent will identify opportunities for innovation and optimization (including personalization and segmentation) by leveraging the capabilities of digital properties and integrations with our CRM to bring campaigns to life.
- Provides leadership in leveraging the capabilities of email automation, predictive intelligence, digital and social marketing and will also incorporate other digital best practices and optimizations to drive towards campaign goals.
- Responsible for ensuring a cohesive look and feel across channels, while adhering to George Brown brand standards. In addition, as part of campaign execution and in collaboration with Manager, Digital Experience, ensuring a cohesive experience across email, web and social media.
- Social Media
- Oversees all owned corporate social media channels. Working closely with internal stakeholders, and in alignment with the colleges brand standards, the incumbent leads the social voice of the organization, with an audience of thousands of stakeholders every day.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, managing and monitoring the colleges Social Media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase engagement and conversion. Works with a team of social media knowledge experts to develop compelling content with a goal to nurture, engage, convert and increase community engagement online.
- Provides leadership and support in leveraging social media as a strategic channel for communication to stakeholder audiences across the organization, including leveraging senior leadership as well as key faculty and employee voices to amplify the brand presence across social media.
- CRM
- Leads the ongoing operationalization of the CRM. Acts as a liaison and knowledge expert related to ongoing CRM implementation in alignment with the Digital Transformation strategic plan.
- Quantitative Analysis and Research
- Accountable for leveraging the data insights accessed through the CRM as well as through consumer tracking research. Examines this data to develop improved business models and aid in data driven decision making.
- Strategic Planning, Budget and Human Resources
- Coordinates and completes an annual strategic business-to-consumer Digital Engagement plan for George Brown College that aligns with its vision, the annual cycle of activities and the promotional and brand objectives. Continuously monitors and evaluates the industry environment to identify or forecast trends and pursue opportunities for future growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum four-year degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institute.
- Digital Marketing designations are an asset.
- Minimum seven (7) years of related experience.
- Proven experience in all aspects of the marketing mandate for a large multi-faceted progressive organization.
- Experience in developing marketing strategies and conducting market research projects. Thorough knowledge of fundamental marketing principles and market research.
- Experience in developing integrated digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Computer literacy and experience in MS Office (word processing, desktop publishing and multi-media presentation).
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining market share.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to lead and be a key member of the Communications and Marketing team.
- Excellent financial management and budget forecasting skills.
- Familiarity with and understanding of a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and sensitivity to issues of diversity of the population that George Brown College serves.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, and editorial skills.
- Excellent organization, planning, research, analytical, and intuitive skills.
- Excellent judgement and the ability to be flexible and diplomatic.
- Ability to anticipate potential problems or conflicts.
- Demonstrated time management skills necessary for meeting constant and stringent deadlines.
- Broad leadership skills managing a diverse team of experienced individuals.
