About the role
Overview We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood Assistant to join our dedicated team in supporting the development and well-being of young children. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment for children with diverse needs. The successful candidate will work closely with lead teachers and caregivers to implement educational activities, assist with daily routines, and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom activities by assisting with lesson planning and implementation tailored to early childhood development.
- Provide attentive care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being throughout the day.
- Assist children with daily routines such as feeding, toileting, dressing, and rest periods.
- Work with children with disabilities or special needs, adapting activities and providing personalized support as needed.
- Foster social skills, independence, and positive behavior through engaging interactions and guidance.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor developmental progress and communicate observations effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes learning and safety.
- Support inclusive play and learning experiences that respect individual differences and promote diversity.
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in early childhood settings.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, caregiving best practices, and child development stages.
- Strong ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, children, and families.
- Ability to adapt activities for diverse learners and support inclusive education initiatives.
- A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and fostering a positive learning environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while developing your skills in early childhood education within a supportive team environment.
Note this position is part-time and moving into full-time when required. Must be available between 7:30am and 6pm.
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
