This role is part of Eyeline’s Technology organization, which is responsible for supporting creative excellence across our global studio. We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated leader for our VFX Pipeline team – someone with a proven track record of leading teams to build and support artist-friendly pipeline solutions in fast-paced, high-end visual effects environments.
As Manager of VFX Pipeline, you will own the end-to-end pipeline strategy that powers shot production across film and episodic content. You will collaborate closely with supervisors, artists, and the Platform Engineering team to understand production needs and use your deep understanding of VFX workflows to translate them into clear, actionable initiatives that align with Eyeline’s broader platform strategy.
Your team will be responsible for delivering tooling and workflows that enables artists to work more efficiently, reduces friction between departments, and ensures reliable delivery at scale. Your leadership will focus on simplicity, scalability, and usability – ensuring the pipeline is intuitive, resilient, and capable of supporting the next generation of creative storytelling.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of software that empowers our VFX production teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders. Build trust by collaborating closely to understand and prioritize projects, defining commitments, and delivering functionality early and often.
- Work with the Platform Engineering team to collaborate on new core features to support VFX workflows.
- Foster collaboration between artists, supervisors, and technical teams to promote intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality.
- Lead the deployment of new tools and technologies into production – developing change management strategies and partnering with L&D on training programs.
- Partner with software vendors to unblock your team by identifying the most impactful features and bugs, and clarifying our roadmap.
- Be an active part of the VFX development community by fostering team engagement with steering committees and open source projects.
- Support team leads and project managers in developing project roadmaps to ensure timely and successful delivery of complex projects.
- Communicate project updates and progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and drive quality assurance practices to ensure that features are validated in production.
- Collaborate with managers across technology teams to support our “one team” principle – delivering consistency and cross-functional alignment through shared roadmaps and priorities.
- Ensure development adheres to established standards and best practices, including security compliance.
- Manage and mentor engineers, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters innovation and continuous learning.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum seven (7) years experience leading software engineering teams
- Minimum ten (10) years Python software development experience
- Experience with end-to-end VFX production pipelines and DCCs, including asset creation, layout, animation, FX, lighting, and rendering.
- Proven experience deploying novel pipeline components into active production, with an ability to manage change, drive adoption, and maintain trust with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical debt, balancing innovation with the operational demands of active shows.
- Depth and breadth of understanding of engineering principles, practices, and design patterns. Acronyms such as DRY, SOLID, and TDD should be familiar.
- Expertise with foundational technologies such as USD and Rez (or similar), production tracking software such as Shotgrid/Flow or FTrack, and review systems such as RV.
- Strong understanding of render farm orchestration, compute scaling, and performance optimization across CPU and GPU-based workflows.
- Experience working with globally distributed production environments, optimizing pipelines for remote and multi-site collaboration.
- Ability to evaluate, adopt, and strategically integrate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted workflows, and next-generation digital production tools.
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Self-directed, proactive, detailed, organized and solution-oriented personality
