Are you a Disability Management professional with continuous improvement and lifelong learning mindset? We are hiring Intake Advisors into our integrated disability management (IDM) team for our Calgary office. Applying strong communication and prioritization skills, You will be responsible for supporting employees through the initial stages of short-term disability (STD) and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims in a timely and efficient manner.

Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2 years of claims and / or disability management experience
- A bachelor’s degree in the medical or human sciences fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the medical or insurance fields
- Good knowledge of best practices in disability management and the relevant legislation
- Basic knowledge of STD plans and long-term disability contracts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Cority software

Responsibilities:
- Adjudicate and initially manage employee STD claims in accordance with legislative requirements and Suncor’s case management process and practices
- File workers’ compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements and Suncor’s case management process and practices
- Assess employee fitness for work and communicate same to the business area
- Educate and inform key stakeholders on the requirements of short-term disability and WCB programs, including roles, responsibilities, expectations, and consequences
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to exercise ethical and professional judgment in determining the appropriate collection, use, and disclosure of personal health information
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate electronic documentation and internal records
Location and other Key Details:
- This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Our professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
