Position Overview: The IT Infrastructure Process & Controls Specialist will support the Senior Manager, IT Business Office, ensuring that IT systems and operations have strong process and control frameworks in place. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks across critical IT systems, improving system stability, and reducing the likelihood of outages or operational disruptions. Collaboration across sustainment teams, incident response, and project teams is essential.
This is a Contract with a duration of approximately 12 - 18 months performed onsite in Calgary. The successful candidate must be available between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm . Key Responsibilities:
- Critical System Mapping: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and map critical IT systems and infrastructure, comprehending their dependencies and potential process and control risks.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough process risk assessments for each critical system, identifying potential process and control inadequacies that could impact IT operations.
- Control Evaluation: Evaluate existing controls and processes for critical systems (non-SOX, non-compliance focus), identifying gaps and areas requiring improvement to enhance operational reliability & stability.
- Monitoring and Compliance: Establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure ongoing compliance with controls and processes and proactively address any deviations or non-compliance.
- Incident Response: Collaborate with incident response teams to develop and maintain response plans for potential IT disruptions or outages, ensuring efficient and effective recovery.
- Collaboration with IT Sustainment Personnel: Work closely with key sustainment personnel from IT Upstream, IT Downstream, IT Corporate, IT Enterprise, IT Shared Services, IT Regional Support Teams, and Information & Cyber Security to drive process and control improvements for critical deemed systems.
- Liaison with Projects: Collaborate with project teams implementing new capabilities to ensure appropriate controls are designed before projects are handed over to operations.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the status of process control implementation, risk assessments, and incidents, and communicate these to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure, systems and applications including process controls, risk assessment, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in audit and internal controls.
- Proven ability to liaise, communicate courageously and promote continuous improvement with critical senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry-standard control frameworks (e.g., ITIL V4, NIST).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISA) are an asset.
