SUSTAINABILITY DATA ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sustainability Data Analyst will play a key role in the sustainability team by facilitating the accurate collection and analysis of data. This position will help drive the successful execution of sustainability programs and initiatives by maintaining data integrity, enabling informed decision-making, and supporting performance tracking across key metrics.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Effectively administer the collection, research, analysis, and forecasting of sustainability data, including the calculation and management of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to greenhouse gas emissions, air pollutants, waste generation and diversion, water usage, and other impact areas to support solutions to improve sustainability performance.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of data reporting flows across the NFI Group portfolio to ensure timely and accurate reporting of data.
- Maintain accurate records and perform extensive data validation and quality assurance analysis within large datasets for data tracking.
- Respond to inquiries and prepare accurate, timely reports and updates related to sustainability data, ensuring clear communication of key findings and metrics.
- Be responsible for the creation and development of accurate records and documentation including plans, guidelines, reports, and presentations.
- Evaluate and analyze data to deliver intelligence on sustainability and regulatory data, tracking progress and program performance, while identifying data gaps through analytical tools to provide enhanced decision-making.
- Support internal and external audits of sustainability data, ensuring timely follow-up and closeout of all audit actions.
- Assist in preparing and ensuring compliance to voluntary and regulatory sustainability reports and disclosures
- Collaborate with multiple departments to enhance sustainability programming by developing and continuously improving business systems for data collection, ensuring alignment with program goals and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and distribute KPI reports and tracking tools—such as automated spreadsheets,
- SharePoint sites, and sustainability software suites—to support effective program implementation and performance monitoring.
- Support the analysis and evaluation of sustainability initiatives with a focus on carbon footprint reduction and resource efficiency, providing insights to guide strategic planning and operational improvements.
- Implement project communication plans to effectively communicate milestones and progress to both internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- 1-5 years of experience in data analysis, statistics, sustainability, or related area.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma related to data analytics, statistics, sustainability or environmental science, accounting, finance, or similar fields.
- Strong analytical skills with proven experience in data collection and anaylsis.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format.
- Ability to work independently, organize workload and competing priorities.
- Familiarity with government agencies, permitting and utility data.
- Strong computer skills, with advanced skills in software applications such as MS Excel and Power BI including ability to adapt to new software.
- Strong Interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analysis skills
- Up to 5% travel; must be eligible to travel to the U.S
