SOUTHLAND, a school/charter bus service provider, is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, professional Administrative Assistant / Dispatcher to join our team in Saskatoon. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will serve an administrative function across various departments.
This is a full-time position, working forty hours per week.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to serve the public and relate to coworkers in a courteous, helpful manner
- Previous administrative experience
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, including handling customer concerns and complaints
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, intuitive and empathetic listening skills
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure, and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a composed manner
- Self-starter who can work on tight timelines
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules set out in the Driver’s Handbook and Policy and Procedures manual
- Schedule and assign charters as required
- Assist in answering public and driver inquiries and finding solutions to concerns
- Ensure all required paperwork/requests are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Create/improve existing Operations systems
- Keep appropriate staff informed of any major issues, changes, or concerns in an expedient fashion
- Fuel reconciliation
- Receive and respond to requests for emergency assistance or service from dispatched resources
- Data entry in various formats
- Enter daily payroll, respond to payroll and benefits inquiries from employees, and act as a liaison between payroll department and employees
- General office duties as required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
