Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis contributes to the overall success of the Consolidated Reporting function within the Centre of Excellence team in Technology Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. They will also ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Own the central financial datasets and spreadsheets, including master transit and account hierarchies, used by Technology Finance for planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Prepare and present complex financial data and information in a meaningful, concise, and user-friendly manner for Technology Finance management.
- Implement continual improvements to processes and reporting to meet evolving business requirements and best practices.
- Manage the financials of Management and Student
- Perform monthly EGL to MARS reconciliation
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reconciliations monthly/quarterly
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field with progress towards a professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or graduate degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
- Strong technical skills in MS Excel with experience working with coding VBA macros is required.
- Proficiency using PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
