Assignment: Resource and Resiliency Worker
FTE of Assignment: 1.0 FTE
Hours of Assignment: 7 hours/day
Assignment Start Date: August 25, 2025
Assignment End Date: June 26, 2025
Primary Duties:
Resource and Resiliency Workers (RRW)
(MHCBE) RRWs support student learning and social emotional needs in the school setting by:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with home and school to address the needs of the students. Build and mend relationships between home and school.
- Knowledge of community agencies/partners and ability to make referrals to community agencies as deemed necessary.
- Work as a team member with medical doctors, Community Mental Health, Child and Family Services and other appropriate agencies to assist in improving the situation of the child, family, and school.
- Liaise with community agencies and provide a link between school personnel and appropriate community agencies' personnel.
- Work as a team member with appropriate school personnel to assist students to overcome difficulties and develop their full potential.
- Collaborate on interagency committees as deemed appropriate, e.g., High Risk Youth Committee.
- Help families identify the supports available in the community, including the connection to the church.
Student Support:
- Building positive relationships with students.
- Implementing support strategies identified in the student ISP (Individual Support Plan) or Safety and Regulation Support Plan.
- Assists with creating and updating Safety and Regulation Support Plans.
- Works with school staff to implement plans to defuse high arousal situations.
- Participates in classroom management plans as directed.
- Facilitates social skill development either one on one or in small groups.
- Facilitates social interactions and problem solving among students.
- Provides instructional or other support under the direction and supervision of school administration.
