About the role
TheEnvironmental Health Safety Managerinspects and evaluates the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards. The primary goal of protecting the employees, customers, and the environment.
#Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead regional implementation of corporate health and safety program (i.e. for Manitoba (Mill Creek), Saskatchewan (Norquay & Usherville) & Ontario (St Catharines).
Liaison with Provincial regulators and various stakeholders.
Facilitate operations compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and other legal requirements.
Ensure assigned audits and inspections are conducted according to requirements.
Collaborate with shared services and others to ensure health and safety related training is delivered and tracked as required by legislation.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of health and safety outcomes and organizational performance. Contribute to the development of strategies to improve employee and organizational excellence in health and safety

#Essential Qualifications:
Knowledge of applicable environmental laws, regulations, standards, and permit requirements.
Strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong leadership, ability to influence and engage people and motivate them to meet/exceed goals and objectives; and the ability to develop others.
Fact-based analysis and reporting skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Asserts ideas and persuades others; gains support and motivates people to act.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Ability to hold self and others accountable; establish vision and plan to achieve; manage multiple projects; and interface with and represent the company to regulators.
Education and Experience
Preferred bachelor's degree in related field
3+ years of related experience
JHSC Certification considered an asset
Experience working within WCB/WSIB
Experience applying provincial workplace health and safety standards, including Saskatchewan OHS regulations, Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health requirements, and Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Ability to read, write, and speak English.

The employee must be capable of properly wearing a respirator and other applicable PPE and safety equipment, as required.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, printer/scanner, and filing cabinets.
Hands-on engagement with co-workers, leaders, and internal teams.
Must be able to adapt to the noise level of a manufacturing setting, which is usually moderate to heavy.
