About the role

Purpose Of The Position Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will work closely with all internal and external teams within the Information Technology division. You will propose technical directions regarding development, evolution, projects, and activities related to your area of expertise.

You will participate in defining the overall infrastructure as well as the architecture and standards of SAQ applications.

Main Responsibilities*:

  • Coordinate and conduct technological orientation studies requested by management, including technical, strategic, and cost/benefit analyses; identify and consult all stakeholders; define the context of the study; identify the objectives; recommend directions, software and equipment acquisitions, and propose an action plan.
  • Evolve the technological architecture based on new business needs and selected technological directions.
  • Identify the technological projects required for the evolution of the environments to support new development projects.
  • Document the technological architecture according to the chosen technological directions.
  • Conduct technological monitoring by staying informed of new technologies that will contribute to the evolution of the company's IT environment.
  • Support all IT and company services.
  • Propose the most appropriate methods to optimize the operation of operating software and development and management tools.
  • Design improvements or modifications to the technological environment and optimize integration to facilitate the deployment of the architecture.
  • Act as a technology advisor to other Information Resources teams regarding the use and configuration of elements for the technological infrastructure.
  • Ensure the consistency, integration, and evolution of solutions and processes.
  • Produce transition plans to new architectures (cost and effort estimation).
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) for new acquisitions or technology changes.
  • Translate customer needs into technological solutions.
  • Ensure cohesion and compliance with the company's target architecture.
  • Participate in the development of Implementation and monitoring of ITIL processes owned by 7ervice.
  • Conducts the necessary research to create documentation for project sheets and business cases applicable to the technological infrastructure.
  • Determines the standards, norms, and guidelines surrounding their area of expertise.
  • Conducts infrastructure audits related to their area of expertise.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
  • 10 years of relevant experience in information technology, including 7 years in the design/implementation of database environments.

Skills Technical Skills

  • General knowledge of the following databases: Oracle, DB2 LUW, DB2 BLU, SQL Server, MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of the following operating systems: AIX, Linux, and Windows
  • Knowledge of the following database management tools would be an asset: Oracle Enterprise Manager, TOAD, DB2/Explain, DBArtisan.
  • Knowledge of managing databases associated with an ERP (JDE) and/or warehouse and point-of-sale system applications (WMS and XStore).
  • Scripting skills: Shell Script, Perl, PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of database management in a data warehouse environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of cloud databases would be an asset.
  • Knowledge ETL Datastage experience is an asset.
