PART-TIME DORMITORY COORDINATORS
International Student Dormitory at Assumption College Catholic High School
$22.00/hour (Day Shift)/ $23.00/hour (Night Shift)
The Dormitory Coordinators will report to the Manager of International Education and Coordinator of International Education. This is a part-time position, working on an “on call” basis up to 20 hour per week with shifts rotating between days, afternoons, and nights. The Dormitory Coordinator will assist with the following:
- Supervise dormitory students and enforce dormitory rules, regulations, and schedules.
- Work to establish open communication lines with students and to refer to appropriate Board resources in order to meet the academic, social, and cultural needs of students.
- Maintain a positive dormitory atmosphere.
- Support students’ regular and timely attendance at school.
- Develop, organize, implement, and supervise weeknight, weekend and holiday program activities.
- Complete all assigned administrative tasks, including but not limed to: incident reports, programming logs, program evaluations, and daily communication documentation.
- Be part of a team that may be called upon to accompany students to hospital/clinic or necessary appointments as directed by the Manager of International Education or Coordinator of International Education.
- Respond to and provide assistance in addressing emergencies consistent with prescribed Board emergency procedures.
- Comply with Board established policies, procedures, and rules of operation.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with respect to students’ personal information.
- Assist in the service of meals.
- Light housekeeping duties.
Qualifications
- The successful applicant should be a good role model, have good interpersonal skills, be sensitive to different cultures, and enjoy working with children and youth.
- The Dormitory Coordinator is a shift work position. Applicants must be available to work days, afternoons and/or nights.
- First aid training and/or willingness to engage in Board required first aid/safety training.
- As Dormitory Coordinators may be required to transport and/or accompany students to appointments on occasion, a valid Class G license with a clean driver’s abstract and access to a licensed vehicle will be considered an asset.
- A clear criminal record check (including vulnerable sector screening)
