Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician

Join a Global Leader in Industrial Refrigeration
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician to join a leading global engineering and industrial systems organization supporting customers across food processing, cold storage, beverage, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and industrial processing environments. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy travel, troubleshooting complex industrial refrigeration systems, and working independently in the field while supporting critical customer operations nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer service requests and field dispatches nationwide
- Travel to customer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial refrigeration systems and compressor packages
- Perform preventative maintenance, warranty repairs, and service work on refrigeration equipment and associated components
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for refrigeration systems, electrical systems, industrial controls, and control panels
- Support startup, commissioning, and operational verification activities for newly installed equipment
- Perform retrofits and upgrades to refrigeration equipment and industrial control systems
- Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system drawings
- Inspect equipment to verify proper operation and identify opportunities for improved performance and reliability
- Train customers and end users on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and system best practices
- Complete service reports, startup reports, inspection reports, and required documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate effectively with customers, technical support teams, engineering departments, and internal service coordinators
- Provide after-hours technical support and troubleshooting assistance as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical school training in Refrigeration, HVAC/R, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline preferred
- 2+ years of industrial refrigeration experience required
- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, system components, and industrial refrigeration applications
- Experience troubleshooting screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, compressor packages, and refrigeration systems
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with industrial control panels, PLCs, electrical controls, and control systems preferred
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems preferred
- RETA certifications (CARO, CIRO, or equivalent) preferred
- EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred
- Ability to obtain ANSI/IIAR-6 certification if required
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in field environments
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to travel up to 90% nationwide
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in industrial environments including hot, cold, noisy, wet, and confined spaces
