About the role

Job Description As a Sr. Facilities Maintenance Supervisor here at Honeywell, you will hold a senior-level role and maintain a strong focus on managing and optimizing the maintenance and operational aspects of an organization's physical infrastructure and services. The critical role ensures that the facility's complex assets, including specialized systems for safety and security, operate efficiently, effectively, and in full compliance with the long-term P3 Project Agreement, all regulatory requirements, and the high standards required for a healthcare environment.

You will report directly to our Sr. Field Service Manager, and you’ll work out of our Hamilton, ON location.

In this role, you will impact the overall success of the business by ensuring that our facilities are operating effectively and efficiently, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our employees and customers. Your expertise in facilities management will not only enhance the productivity and efficiency of our operations but also contribute to the overall success of the P3 contract and its deliverables.

Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing healthcare facility.
  • Engage in the operation of facilities management.
  • Ensuring timely completion and adherence to Facility Asset Preventive maintenance plans
  • Oversee maintenance services using CMMS platform.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for facilities maintenance, aligning them with our organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Create, oversee, and optimize budgets for maintenance activities, seeking cost-effective solutions while maintaining high facility standards.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of facility assets, planning for replacements or upgrades as needed, and ensuring the organization’s assets are well-maintained.
  • Ensure that all facilities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, manage permits, and certifications, and stay informed about industry standards.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with established service levels.
  • Implement energy-saving practices and sustainable initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
  • Conduct regular inspections, quality assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure that maintenance work meets established standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for facility-related incidents, including power outages, natural disasters, or other crises.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to understand their facility needs and provide timely updates on maintenance initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in facilities maintenance practices.
  • Lead, guide, and develop talent within the team to foster professional growth and enhance overall organizational capability.
  • P3 Contract Risk Management.

Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or manager role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading and managing unionized team.
  • Immunization (including COVID-19 vaccination) as required by the customer and in accordance with the Public Health Act

We Value

  • Experience in facilities management in a healthcare environment or correction facilities
  • Experience in P3 contracts
  • Experience with budget management - plan, manage, and control the annual operating budget for facility services, including cost forecasting, reconciliation, and improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment
  • Strong understanding of latent issues and effective risk management practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements (e.g. Canadian Standards Association, Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Electrical Safety Authority, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Marshal, Ministry of Labor, Ontario Accessibility Act).

The annual base salary range for this position is $100k - $120k in Hamilton, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
