Role Description This part-time, on-site Music Teacher role is based at Beaches Dance and Music Studio in Toronto, ON. The Music Teacher will plan and deliver engaging music lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels, providing private instruction. Daily responsibilities include teaching instrument technique (piano, guitar, ukulele, drums), music reading, and some music theory, as well as preparing lesson plans, selecting appropriate repertoire, and assessing student progress. The role involves maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with studio staff on recitals, performances. The Music Teacher will also be responsible for keeping accurate attendance and progress records and contributing to the overall educational quality of the studio’s music program.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge to support structured, progressive instruction. Demonstrated Music Performance skills, with the ability to model technique and musical expression for students. Background in Music Education, including experience designing lessons, assessing learning, and adapting teaching methods to diverse learners. Proficiency in playing and teaching various musical instruments to beginners and intermediate students. Relevant post-secondary education in Music, Music Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create an inclusive, respectful learning environment. Experience working with children, youth, or adults in instructional settings; studio or school teaching experience is an asset. Organizational skills to manage schedules, lesson planning, and student progress documentation. Willingness to collaborate with other instructors and participate in studio performances, events, and community outreach.
