The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Coordinator/Programmer, Active Living, this casual position is responsible for designing and implementing individualized exercise programs to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals. Personal Trainers work with diverse populations and a range of fitness levels.

Prepare and deliver fitness programs following required standards

Develop exercise programs to meet participants needs and goals

Provide program instruction/leadership at the appropriate skill level of participants. Start and end program on time

Book appointments and follow-up with clients

Perform administrative tasks (i.e., attendance, preparation, injury, and Incident Reports etc.)

Attend team meetings and training sessions

Ensure confidentiality of all information pertaining to staff, customers, and facility operations
-
Assist in providing a clean, healthy, safe environment for the program and ensure equipment is
stored as required
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an active professional with Current Standard First Aid with CPR- C, Certified Personal Trainer (Can Fit Pro or equivalent), or other specialty certification, a demonstrated understanding of different training methods (e.g., strength, cardio, flexibility, and functional training) and experience and knowledge with strength and cardio conditioning equipment. In the process or obtained post-secondary degree/diploma in Kinesiology/Recreation would be an asset.
The candidate will have demonstrated excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, organization skills with attention to detail. This candidate will also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for these positions.
