JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST, TFT

STATUS: TEMPORARY FULL TIME

DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE MAINTENANCE

LOCATION: NIAGARA HEALTH

HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

WAGE RANGE: $36.513 to $42.973

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Services, the incumbent works as part of the Engineering Services team to maintain and update the CMMS, Building Asset database, energy and due diligence assurance for Engineering Services throughout the Niagara Health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Certified Engineering Technologist education required, preferably in Facilities Management

o Working knowledge of legislated safety requirements, codes, standards and regulations

o Experience with developing policies and procedures in a maintenance environment

o Working knowledge and understanding of energy monitoring and regression analysis, energy budgets and models (Excel)

o Knowledge of and ability to work with CMMS's (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, to update asset database and generate reports for the Engineering Team

o Knowledge of CAD (Autocad) systems and ability to modify CAD drawings and update records

o Experience monitoring, modeling (regression analysis and Cusum techniques) and budgeting energy use; real time energy monitoring experience would be an asset

o Working knowledge of computer software applications including building automation and computerized maintenance management system experience an asset

o Demonstrated ability to create technical and financial models and reports (MS Excel and/or Access)

o Knowledge of databases (detailed building asset inventory - structure and equipment life cycle database including condition assessment); ability to update, run reports, analyze data, develop briefing notes to assist with infrastructure renewal priorities

o Knowledge and experience using proper body mechanics to meet the physical requirements for the job including bending, prolonged positioning, standing, walking, ladder climbing and overhead work

o Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for inter-site travel

o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgment, critical thinking, trouble shooting and decision making skills

o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision

o Consistent and regular attendance required

o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
