The Human Rights Office offers consultations to students, faculty and staff who want to discuss their human rights-related concerns and receive impartial, confidential advice regarding a specific situation. Through these consultations, the HRO Director can help submit complaints to the university if deemed necessary. The HRO Director provides human rights-related legal advice to faculties, departments, units, and programs at SFU.
About the Role
The Confidential Administrative Professional III provides confidential administrative support to the Human Rights Office Director, and the Ombudsperson. The role acts as a point of initial contact for individuals, either internal or external to the University, who wish to raise issues with the Human Rights Office, assesses the sensitivity of the inquiry and refers as necessary. The role prepares and administers the annual budget and forecast of the Human Rights Office and assists with other financial administration requests, responds to requests for information; liaises with internal and external personnel; produces timely, accurate and well-formatted documents using various word processing and spreadsheet.
