Are you an experienced coordinator of data collection projects with a solid understanding of research and evaluation planning and approval protocols, project and data management, and reporting? The Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) provides trauma-informed, highly-specialized assessment, treatment, and targeted intervention services for children and youth with complex combinations of special needs, including developmental disabilities, autism and severe behavioural, emotional and mental health challenges across the province. These services include Assessment, Consultation, Treatment, Research and Education.

CPRI is searching for a talented Research Coordinator to assist in developing, coordinating and conducting projects related to research and/or other initiatives that impact service delivery for children and youth with special needs across Ontario and improve knowledge in the field. About the job

As a Research Coordinator, you will work with colleagues at CPRI and across the Children with Special Needs Division to deliver novel and credible evidence-based solutions and supports to program design and evaluation initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in developing, coordinating and conducting research and evaluation projects with a focus on service outcomes
  • Review, analyze and make recommendations for program change
  • Monitor the implementation of policies/procedures and identify issues/problems that arise
  • Carry out descriptive, and inferential analyses on diverse data assets
  • Create data visualization and communication tools that tell strong data stories
  • Work with colleagues within and beyond ministry lines to deliver data and analytics that are clinically and evidence-informed
  • Coordinate the preparation of reports, publications, summaries, briefings and presentations to senior management using a peer review process
  • Support budget and research proposal grant applications

What you bring to the team

Technical Knowledge and Experience

You have knowledge of/ experience in:

  • program analysis and evaluation techniques to assess the effectiveness of policies and programs and provide recommendations
  • program and policy development principles for the analysis and preparation of policy/program options and recommendations
  • ability to synthesize the big picture across disparate data sources while demonstrating strong attention to detail skills
  • data/database management principles, technologies, and best practices for working with structured and unstructured data assets

Project Management and Organizational Skills

You can:

  • coordinate research projects, and track project timelines and deliverables
  • work independently and ensure satisfactory and timely results delivery

Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

You can:

  • plan and conduct appropriate methodologies and complex data analyses
  • manage data including data cleaning, extraction and analysis
  • identify and evaluate research information and techniques to ensure data and recommendations are evidence based and meet program and client needs
  • investigate complex problems, challenging assumptions and make sense of information
  • creatively think and propose innovative ways to look at problems by using data mining approaches based on the set of information available
  • ensure the right questions are being asked, solicit feedback, and iterate until you reach meaningful conclusions backed by solid analysis

Communication, Interpersonal and Presentation Skills

You have:

  • communication skills to prepare a variety of reports and communication materials
  • client relationship skills to develop relationships with project teams and stakeholders and develop and maintain rapport and credibility with stakeholders
  • presentation skills to effectively communicate information to a variety of audiences
  • experience in data storytelling and communication through different mediums such as dashboards, briefings, reports, and presentation materials
  • ability to communicate complex technical concepts with clarity to non-technical audiences
