Reason: New position!
Women’s College Cohort is a new initiative at WCH that focuses on the health of women through the midlife menopausal period and into older age. The cohort will recruit women and gender diverse individuals to observe the health and wellness changes that they experience throughout this period. The cohort will be a population-based sample that represents Toronto and the greater Toronto area in terms of gender identity, racial/ethnic group, socioeconomic status and geographic location and follows individuals over time. The cohort will collect mental and physical health and importantly menopausal information approximately yearly.
Summary Of Duties, But Not Limited To Writing
- In collaboration with team members, writes peer-reviewed publications, protocols, reports, abstracts, poster presentations and other relevant deliverables.
Communications

In collaboration with team members, participants in:
-
Drafting knowledge dissemination plans that consider a broad range of stakeholders
-
Summarizes meeting minutes
-
Developing slide decks for presentations
-
Developing graphic/illustrations to communicate research
Project Coordination.
-
In collaboration with the principal investigator carries out various aspects in the study/project protocols. These activities may include:
-
Assisting with the tracking of study deadlines, timelines and deliverables
-
Assisting in developing study protocol including literature searches for validates questionnaires etc.
-
Recruitment and scheduling of research subjects and managing the consent process
-
Administration and collection of research questionnaire (ex. Via REDCap software)
-
Overseeing study databases in REDCap and log/trackers
-
Data collection (including database creation) and entry
-
Descriptive data summaries and analyses
-
Assisting in grant submissions including budget preparation and preparation of appendices
-
Assisting with producing accurate and timely data/reports including data interpretation and presentation
-
Conducting literature searches using MEDLINE, PUBMED and other internal resources, retrieve and organize documents from university libraries in reference software
-
Assists with general project coordination which may include:
-
Coordinates the day-to-day activities of any staff specifically engaged in the carrying out of research/clinical protocol for one or more projects within the research program, as appropriate to their position

Monitoring project timelines and deliverables in collaboration with other team members
-
Organizing and maintaining project budgets and allocating funds in collaboration with the PI
-
Liaising as appropriate with Finance and Procurement
-
Participating in the preparation of REB proposals and amendments
-
Assists with enhancing relationships among existing stakeholders and helps develop new partnerships
-
Completes administrative tasks such as the planning and coordinating meetings, prepares meeting agendas and background material; produces and distributes minutes
-
Provides training and direction to Research Trainees
-
Providing oversight and direction to Research Assistants, when applicable

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare related field, Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum three to five years of progressive experience working in a research environment and/or academic hospital
- Knowledge of observational research terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrates proficiency in project coordination
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), reference management software (EndNote), and online survey platforms
- Ability to develop knowledge of applicable legislative, WCH and/or departmental policies and procedures
- Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently
- Ability to meet tight and fluid deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Exelent problem recognition and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of research design and research ethics
