What You’ll Do

You’ll act with integrity to:

  • Create and maintain the Information and Cybersecurity strategy and governance structure, including developing and defining cyber security policy, procedures and standards for all information systems and applications.
  • Utilize proven Information and Cybersecurity expertise to develop scalable and sustainable operational metrics, dashboards, and scorecards to support the Director and the Executive Leaders; on the development of actionable KPIs, including tracking of ROI for security investments.
  • Create and implement internal best practices for strategy, defining effective processes for driving continuous improvement and improved performance.
  • Lead response to security incidents, ensuring alignment with the Assembly strategic plan and all stakeholder requirements.

You’ll support our collaboration as you:

  • Work with the Director to ensure congruence and support with the overall Information Security Roadmap and business objectives and desired risk posture.
  • Define and develop a comprehensive Information and cyber security training programs.
  • Partner with the IT team and other internal teams to ensure the effective design and operations of the information security operations service for Ontario’s Legislative Assembly.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of professionals both in-house and through a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) to ensure success of the Security Operations function.
  • Lead vulnerability management, incident response, threat intelligence, event management, and SOC (Security Operating Centre) operations utilizing various controls and systems.
  • Implement a Co-Managed SIEM leveraging both internal and third-party resources and integrate relevant event data sources across the enterprise.

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in information and cyber security including strategy design, implementation and monitoring or; equivalent work experience in cyber security.
  • Experience providing strategic guidance to clients.
  • Experience developing, communicating, and implementing cyber security or technology strategies.
  • Strong working experience and deep technical or operational hands-on knowledge in cyber security.
  • Implementation and use with mastery of goal setting frameworks like KPI management.
  • Experience with a variety of cyber security disciplines and topics including vulnerability management, access management, cloud security, risk management, security operations, frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF), etc.
