Responsibilities
Proper installation of plants and plant material Able to install shrubs/trees/sod/topsoil/mulch Vigilant for safety and hazards at all times Digging by hand Pushing wheel barrels Grading for sod installation Always adhere to our safe work practices and procedures
Requirements
Must have at least 3 years of Softscape experience Proven experience installing shrubs/trees/sod A solid understanding of landscape materials gained from experience Ability to work outdoors for long lengths of time Able to work in all temperatures and weather conditions Able to lift 50lbs Excellent communication skills Presentable and professional at all times Good work ethic, punctual and dependable Must be detail oriented Work well in a team G License is an asset
Hourly Rate: $33.00

About Islington Nurseries Ltd.
Islington Nurseries Ltd., is a family run business and has been operating in Etobicoke for over 60 years.
High standards and dependability are the foundation on which our company continues to grow.
Our wholesale trade yard at 270 Evans Avenue service the requirements of many Toronto landscapers. At this 6 acre location we stock a large supply of Interlock product, natural stone and bulk aggregate product. What makes us different , is the knowledgeable and approachable staff.
In the spring of 2006, our Garden Centre relocated to 1000 Islington Avenue, 25,000 square feet of both indoor and outdoor seasonal displays. The Islington Nurseries team of floral designers also share this address, where they create original designs including indoor and outdoor displays and arrangements for all occasions.
As the result of consistent, reliable and qualified service, many of our commercial maintenance sites have been customers for more than 20 years. In addition to the scheduled maintenance services, we have installed many award winning floral displays.
Our Construction management team has overseen landscape construction projects which range in size from $60,000 to over 2 million. Though the size and scope of work may vary, our projects are finished on time and as scheduled.
