We have an immediate opening for a Contract (1-Year, temporary full-time) Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer “M”, with potential to extend or convert to permanent full-time employment for the Langley Operations Department. This position will be based out of the Langley facility, British Columbia and will report to the Crew Chief.
What you’ll do
- Perform Aircraft Maintenance services on a variety of helicopter types
- Conduct light to heavy repairs
- Carry our maintenance, recurring inspections and calendar inspections.
- Troubleshooting and ensuring operational performance and standards of the entire aircraft
- Recording work on Company build sheets or applicable forms
- Following established maintenance techniques and adhering to standard practices
- Placing basic parts orders
- Assists other mechanics with troubleshooting
- In depth knowledge of processes
- May assist Lead Hand, as required May have contact with customers
Required Qualifications
- Formal, Transport Canada–recognized AME training (BCIT or equivalent accredited program)
- Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience through formal training, personal projects, school labs, or previous work (e.g., use of hand tools, measuring tools, basic disassembly/assembly, interpreting mechanical drawings) Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
Preferred Characteristics
- Experience with maintenance and installation preferably on AS 332 Super Puma and/or AS350 Aircraft is an asset
- AME “M” license considered a strong asset
- Thorough understanding of all technical documents such as: technical bulletins, alert service bulletins, etc.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Willing to work overtime. Ability to work with minimal supervision
