Reporting to the Academic Chair of Welding Engineering Technology and Non-Destructive Testing, the CGSB Exam Invigilator is responsible for the control and administration of NRCan and CWB NDT examinations. This invigilator/ technical role will typically include: 75% testing invigilation and 25% technician duties. These work distribution of duties (%) could be adapted based on demand and operational needs.
This role will be at 40 hours per week.
The Role
-
- Responsible for the control and administration of NRCan and CWB NDT examinations
- Responsible for the security of both the examinations and the NDT facilities
- Practice impartiality, confidentiality, and appropriate conduct during the invigilation of examinations
- Optimize facility use by efficient scheduling of candidates
- Liaison with NRCan and CWB to support candidates
- Communicate stock levels and technical equipment issues to the appropriate person
- Shipping and receiving materials and lab supplies
- Scheduling afternoon review sessions
- Take interact fee payments for exams, cash out and finance reporting
- Other duties, as assigned
- Radiation Safety Officer duties***:***
- Manages all Radiation safety procedures
- CNSC audit booking and attendance, with required record keeping
- Shipping and receiving of Iridium-192 source
- Administration and emails
Qualifications
-
- Must have multiple CGSB Level II Certifications
- Ability to interpret specifications and NDT procedures
- Ability to work independently and be a positive team player
- Strong prioritization, organization and time management skills
- CEDO Certification is required
- Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
- A Level 2 Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) police check will be conducted on successful candidate
