Key Responsibilities

About The Position RWDI is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our Environmental Noise & Vibration team in Ontario as a Senior Specialist or Technical Director. This role supports clients across the buildings, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate will have 10–25 years of relevant experience, with deep expertise in environmental permitting and the land use planning process in Ontario. Depending on experience and interest, the successful applicant may also be considered for a supervisory position within the team.

The Role Includes But Is Not Limited To

  • Take a leadership role on projects, ensuring the team delivers high-quality work on time and within budget, while following defined quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain a client-focused approach, using your technical expertise to support the success of client projects.
  • Participate in peer and design reviews, land use planning, EASR/ECA submissions, and hearing preparation.
  • Apply best practices and in-depth knowledge of the Ontario regulatory environment to support RWDI’s clients and mentor junior staff.
  • Contribute to environmental assessments and related documentation.
  • Support field measurement programs as required.
  • Depending on aptitude and interest, the successful candidate may be considered for a supervisory role within the team.

Practitioners within the Environmental Noise & Vibration team are purely technical specialists — this role does not involve direct project management. However, there are significant opportunities to build strong client relationships and collaborate closely with RWDI’s project management team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with eligibility for P.Eng registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • 10+ years of experience in Environmental Noise and Vibration.
  • Candidates without P.Eng eligibility but with significant, relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Availability to work in person at one of our offices in Guelph, Toronto, Ottawa, or Windsor.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

The following attributes are seen as assets for this position:

  • Considerable experience in the Ontario context, particularly around land use planning and hearing support.
