What you’ll do

As a Business Process Optimization Analyst, you’ll play a hands‑on role in modernizing how the organization works. You’ll get to:

  • Dig into how things really work across the Finance and Administration Directorate, spotting inefficiencies, friction points, and opportunities to make processes simpler, faster, and smarter.
  • Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to map out current processes and help design better, future‑focused ways of working.
  • Build practical, low‑code/no‑code digital solutions—like workflows, forms, approvals, dashboards, and trackers—that people actually enjoy using.
  • Create and support automations that eliminate repetitive tasks, improve consistency, and free up teams to focus on higher‑value work.
  • Develop clear, useful documentation and guidance so solutions are sustainable, easy to understand, and audit‑ready.
  • Support and coach citizen developers by sharing knowledge and best practices, reviewing solutions, and helping teams build responsibly and confidently.
  • Deliver training, troubleshoot issues, and support change so new tools and processes are adopted and used effectively.
  • Help coordinate improvement initiatives, track progress, and measure the real‑world impact of digital and process changes.
  • Stay curious and ahead of the curve by exploring emerging tools and automation trends that can drive continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in finance, accounting, business administration, commerce, economics, information systems, or another field relevant to the position, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and relevant job knowledge.

Language Requirements:

Bilingual imperative with proficiency at BBB level. If you are unsure of your proficiency level, we encourage you to self-assess here

Experience:

  • Experience with the configuration of M365 suite of tools such as List, Approvals, Power BI, Power Automate and AI agents

  • Lead brainstorming, fit-gap and scrum sessions

  • Experience writing project documentation such as project charter, project plan, project schedule etc.

Knowledge of:

  • Best project management practices and techniques

  • Working knowledge of financial and administrative business processes in the Government of Canada

Ability:

  • Ability to manage project deliverables

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various levels of the organization
