Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used in the production and packaging of cannabis beverages. This role involves completing preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, responding to work orders, and ensuring accurate documentation in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Additionally, the technician will assist in the setup of equipment for vape filling, beverage filling, packaging, and other production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment, including filling machines, seaming machines, pumps, packaging systems, and more.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues with the production and facility equipment.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in CMMS.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of equipment for vape and beverage filling and packaging, as well as other production equipment.
- Source and procure replacement parts and materials, ensuring timely availability for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to minimize downtime and maintain a smooth operation.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Additional duties as assigned by the maintenance manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in the cannabis beverage or similar industries.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills are highly encouraged.
- Experience with a variety of equipment including filling machines, seaming machines, pumps, and packaging systems.
- A trade school diploma or equivalent certification in a relevant field is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekend shifts, and be on call as needed.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies and processes.
