About the Role We are looking for a motivated, safety-first individual to join our production team as a Machine & Overhead Crane Operator. In this role, you'll safely operate CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment while using overhead cranes to move steel throughout our facility. You'll play an important role in producing high-quality products while supporting efficient operations and delivering outstanding service to our customers.
Safety & Compliance
- Work safely by following all QPP safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections of machines and overhead cranes.
- Report equipment issues, hazards, and near misses promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S and good housekeeping practices.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting machines.
- Review work orders, engineering drawings, and material specifications.
- Load burn files and make program adjustments as required.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure efficient production.
- Meet daily production, quality, and delivery expectations.
- Mark and tag parts with identifying drawing numbers, heat numbers and other required information.
- Safely operate overhead cranes to load, unload, and move steel plate.
- Stage material to support production flow.
- Identify, tag, and organize finished products.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively across departments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and respect.
- Perform other duties as required.
What We're Looking For Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC Plasma, Oxy-Fuel, or other burning machines.
- Previous overhead crane experience using various Below-The-Hook attachments.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings and geometric dimensions.
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
- Demonstrated dependability, accountability, integrity and strong work ethic.
- Positive and team oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
