The Opportunity
As our ERP Product Manager, you will serve as the bridge between our manufacturing operations, Finance, and ERP system. You will oversee the planning, scheduling, and system roadmap that supports on-time delivery, cost control, compliance, and quality. This role requires both a deep understanding of ERP as a product and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing planning. You will play a key role in ensuring our ERP platform evolves to meet the demands of new aircraft builds, aftermarket parts sales, and the digital future of aviation manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities
- ERP Product Leadership
- Own the ERP product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and aviation compliance requirements.
- Gather requirements from operations, engineering, procurement, and finance, and translate them into ERP features and improvements.
- Lead ERP rollouts, upgrades, and integrations with PLM, MES, MRP and CRM systems.
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand, capacity, and material availability.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and engineering to ensure timely availability of materials and sub-assemblies.
- Monitor and adjust schedules to address changes in demand or supply constraints.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Run and analyze MRP to generate purchase and production orders.
- Manage long-lead purchased parts to align with production timelines.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance availability with cost control.
- Data Integrity & BOM Management
- Ensure accuracy of multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs) and routings for complex aircraft assemblies.
- Support engineering change management to keep ERP data current.
- Audit and reconcile ERP data to physical inventory and shop-floor activity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training
- Work closely with procurement, finance, engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure ERP supports all critical workflows.
- Provide ERP process guidance, support, and training to end-users.
- Act as the liaison between business units, IT, and external vendors.
- Business Process Optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, production, quality, finance, customer service) to identify process inefficiencies and translate them into ERP improvements.
- Ensure ERP supports lean manufacturing, traceability, and regulatory compliance (EASA, FAA, ISO standards).
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT, and external partners.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure timely delivery.
- Provide training and support to end-users across departments.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Information systems, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree an asset).
- 5+ years of experience in ERP product management, planning, or a related role in a complex manufacturing environment (aerospace strongly preferred).
- Expert knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred).
- Expertise in MRP, BOM structures, and production scheduling.
- Experience with vertically integrated, multi-level BOM manufacturing environments.
- Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel and/or BI tools).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with aviation regulatory requirements (EASA/FAA/TC) is a strong plus.
Reporting Line
This role reports directly to the IT Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of finance & IT to ensure ERP supports both enterprise IT strategy and business excellence.
