About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Finance and under the guidance of the Senior Financial Analyst, this position is responsible for processing all accounts payable and corresponding PO’s, along with any reporting in this area. This position will manage all spreadsheets for large payables and ensure proper job classification, assist in administrating contracts and leases for all properties associated with the CDC including rent collection and reconciliations. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining financial records and general office organization.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • PO administration, AP processing, including all Visa and large account expense reconciliations.

  • Maintain housing lease management software and property files, including lease creation and termination

  • Reconcile and work with Case Managers in collecting monthly rent and damage deposits

  • Print daily merchant reports and attach relevant backup to each day

  • Work alongside Financial Admin Assistant to maintain up to date cash counts and deposits

  • Work alongside Financial Admin Assistant to maintain up to date donation records and assist the Development and Communications team

  • Maintain office filing / financial records and general office organization

  • Answer finance office general phone line

  • Attend finance and other organization meetings as required

  • Assist with other departmental needs as required

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent certification

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. – Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • 2+ years of AP and AR experience preferred

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate to a variety of groups

  • Ability to maintain up-to-date files and information

  • Ability to meet deadlines, take initiative, multi-task and be self-motivated

  • Ability to work as part of a team; general willingness to assist wherever needs arise

  • Acute attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and high standards
