Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant.
However, periodically may be asked to work in other AFSC branches. Travel in these circumstances will be reimbursed according to AFSC’s Employee and Board of Directors Expense Policy.

As a Crop Adjuster, you’ll be trained and mentored by experienced professionals while helping deliver fair and timely crop inspections that protect producers and strengthen agriculture across the province.
What will your growth opportunities look like in this role?
This is a true learn-on-the-job career opportunity . You’ll receive hands-on training, coaching, and field experience alongside experienced Crop Adjusters while developing technical, communication, and decision-making skills. Over time, you’ll grow into conducting inspections independently, opening the door to long-term career paths within AFSC’s Claims and Adjusting Services.
Crop adjusting experience will provide you with such an experience where you would be confident to explore other opportunities within the organization as well.
What will you be responsible for?
- Participating in crop inspections alongside an experienced trainer, progressing toward independent inspections as you build confidence and skills
- Connecting with producers to schedule inspections, gather information, and explain inspection steps and outcomes clearly and professionally
- Applying AFSC’s adjusting standards, insurance contracts, and provincial guidelines to ensure fair and consistent outcomes
- Managing your time and inspection schedule effectively in a dynamic, seasonal environment
- Representing AFSC positively in the field, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and care in every client interaction
- Continuously developing your skills through training, feedback, and hands-on experience
What are we looking for from you?
- A high school diploma and an interest in agriculture or hands-on farming experience or post-secondary agricultural education is an asset.
- A strong work ethic, accountability, and the ability to follow through on commitments
- A positive, curious mindset and a genuine willingness to learn and grow
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with producers and team members
- Basic computer skills and openness to learning new tools and systems
- Flexibility and willingness to travel throughout the region and province as required

Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (driving is a core requirement of the role)
