Position Summary
As a Learning Space Support Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of innovation in teaching and learning, serving as one of the primary “faces” of IST and directly empowering instructors to make the most of the university’s 1,200+ learning spaces, meeting rooms, and computer labs. This dynamic role blends technical expertise with people-focused support, offering you the chance to collaborate closely with faculty, guide them in leveraging classroom technologies, and help bring their teaching visions to life. From audio-visual systems and web conferencing to specialized lab software, you’ll be the go-to problem-solver and trusted partner in shaping engaging learning experiences. With every interaction, you’ll not only provide hands-on technical support but also play a key role in advancing digital learning innovation across campus—making a tangible difference in how students and instructors connect, collaborate, and succeed.
Duties
As a Learning Space Support Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the teaching and learning experience on campus by ensuring instructors have the tools, confidence, and support they need to succeed. This role is hands-on, people-focused, and technology-driven—perfect for someone who thrives on solving problems, building relationships, and making a visible impact in over 1,200 learning spaces, labs, and meeting rooms across campus.
Highlights of the Role:
- Support instructors with classroom technology, training, and tailored solutions to meet teaching goals.
- Troubleshoot and maintain audio-visual systems, web conferencing tools, and lecture capture equipment.
- Provide frontline guidance during classes and exams to minimize disruptions and keep learning seamless.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and IT teams to enhance the digital learning environment.
- Contribute to campus-wide events and conferences by delivering professional A/V support.
- Continuously assess and recommend improvements to classroom technology and services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in media, design, theatre production, radio/television, and/or IT (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3+ years of experience in the audiovisual or IT industry, preferably in a support-focused role.
- Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge of web and video conferencing systems.
- Experience working in an educational environment with classroom or lab technology.
- Proficiency with video and audio editing software.
- Experience delivering training to both groups and individuals.
- Demonstrated analytical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations certification is considered an asset.
- Strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building positive client relationships.
- Multilingual communication skills are considered an asset.
