About the role
Work Location: Remote within the territory (Eastern Canada and Northeastern USA) with frequent Regional travel.
Status: Permanent, Full-Time
Reporting to the Director, Crop Nutrient Procurement, you will play a key role on the Sales team by providing a solid background in agricultural retail and wholesale sales and marketing, coupled with a strong business acumen. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets;
- Supervise and lead Account Managers to identify and onboard new wholesale distributors and agricultural retailers;
- Lead and advise Account Managers to complete annual forecast with regular monthly reviews and adjust as required to ensure accuracy in supply and in meeting customer expectations;
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with customers within established company guidelines.
Relationship Management
- Guiding a team of Account Managers, build and strengthen long-term relationships with distributors, and agricultural retailers in Eastern Canada and the Northeastern states;
- Develop strategies to grow share of wallet ensuring long-term sustainable business and accurate forecasts.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to help make informed decisions related to pricing strategies and product positioning;
- Provide regular sales forecasts and territory reports to Senior Management.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Procurement, Logistics and Operations Teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction;
- Represent the company at regional trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Agriculture or a related field (or equivalent experience);
- Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in wholesale fertilizer, crop nutrients, or agricultural inputs;
- Established network of agricultural distributors and retailers in Eastern Canada and/or the Northeastern U.S. preferred;
- Strong understanding of fertilizer products, and crop production practices;
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities;
- Ability to analyze data, prepare forecasts, and develop actionable strategies;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory (50–70%).
