As a Document Control Manager within the Major Projects team at Pomerleau, you will report directly to the Quality Director. Working on large-scale construction projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain document management IT tools (ACONEX, SharePoint, Project Wise, etc.) to implement the process of codifying, circulating, validating, and archiving documents, with or without a title block.
What you will do :
- Draft and update the general management procedures for "Management of Codified Documents" and "Correspondence Management."
- Ensure the above procedures are distributed to the entire project team, subcontractors, and contractors whenever revised.
- Draft and update the "Document Management System (DMS) User Guide."
- Ensure the distribution of documents with title blocks through the DMS, both internally and to the client and stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain the document distribution matrix.
- Assist users, particularly in defining the document codification.
- Ensure secure access and define user access rights.
- Train and support new users on the DMS through training sessions.
- Set up and maintain validation workflows (circuits of approval).
- Monitor compliance with general procedures by document controllers.
- Propose continuous improvement actions for the DMS tool.
- Ensure proper transmission to the client and external parties.
- Develop electronic backup and archiving strategies based on the document lifecycle.
The Document Control Manager may work at the project site offices or the main Pomerleau offices.
This role could be for you if you have :
- You have at least 5 years of experience in document management for major projects in Canada or internationally.
- You are proficient in ACONEX, SharePoint, and Project Wise.
