About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Architect for our growing team!

You are a specialist in cloud platforms, focusing on the development, deployment, and management of the technological infrastructure that supports an organization's applications and services. This role is essential to ensure that systems operate efficiently, reliably, and securely.

What you'll do here:

  • Development and Acceleration of Architecture**: Design and participate in the implementation of proof of concepts and delivery accelerators (features, patterns, and products).**

  • Architectural Design**:** The platform architect is responsible for creating a technical architecture that meets the company's functional, performance, security, and scalability requirements. This includes planning the overall structure of the platform, its components, and interactions.

  • Technology Selection**:** He or she evaluates and selects the most suitable technologies, tools, and frameworks to build and evolve the platform, taking into account market trends and technological innovations.

  • System Integration**:** The architect ensures interoperability between different systems and services, ensuring that all parts of the infrastructure work harmoniously together.

  • Standards and Best Practices**:** Establishing and promoting design and development standards to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability of the platform is an essential responsibility.

  • Security and Compliance**:** Collaborate with security teams to integrate security measures from the design phase, while ensuring that the platform complies with applicable regulations and standards.

  • Documentation**:** Produce and maintain technical documentation detailing the platform's architecture to provide references for developers and other stakeholders.

  • Support and Collaboratio****n: Work closely with development, operations, security, and product teams to ensure the platform meets the needs of all users and stakeholders.

  • Improve T****eam K****nowledge and Onboarding**:** Develop and implement training programs to enhance the technical skills of team members, ensuring that they are up to date with the latest technologies and best practices. Continuously foster a culture of learning and professional growth to empower team members to contribute effectively to the platform's evolution.

What you bring to the table:

  • 10 years or more of experience in information technology

  • 5 years or more of experience in Cloud Architecture: Workload, Networking, Security, etc.

  • 2 years or more of experience in a platform engineering mindset.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform.

  • Applied and demonstrated experience of Well Architected principles on GCP and/or AWS.

  • Team player and technical mentor - ready to learn and collaborate with various groups of seasoned professionals

  • Understanding or desire to learn about different business sectors (policy, claims, compensation, sales, self-service, telematics, etc.)

  • Open and transparent - able to communicate with the business community and telecommunications, infrastructure, security, audit, and software engineering teams

  • Motivated by challenges and achieving results

  • Organized, proactive, and a catalyst for change

  • Knowledge of security best practices and understanding the impacts they can have on the business

  • Comfortable working in a constantly evolving technological environment

  • Excellent team player with demonstrated leadership skills

  • Comfortable speaking with all levels of the organization and different audiences

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
