About The Role
The Cyber Security Specialist at BRP is a vital role responsible for safeguarding the company's information assets and technological infrastructure against cyber threats. This position involves managing and implementing processes, tools, and technologies focused on detecting, preventing, and responding to cyber-attacks, especially within cloud environments such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of cloud security posture management (CSPM), endpoint security, network security, and identity management, with a particular emphasis on threat detection, observability, and detection engineering.
The role requires proactive leadership in deploying and operationalizing cyber security services, developing detection mechanisms tailored to cloud assets, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The specialist will collaborate with various teams to enhance security protocols, conduct research on emerging threats, and ensure the effectiveness of BRP’s cyber defense strategies. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience in information security Hands-on experience with Azure Security, GCP, and CSPM tools Experience with AWS security services is an asset Certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer Knowledge of security observability, vulnerability management, and container security Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools like Hashicorp Terraform Experience with CI/CD automation pipelines Strong understanding of IAM/PAM, PKI, and modern authentication protocols (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect) Familiarity with incident response methodologies and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to develop and improve security workflows and processes
Responsibilities
Lead the deployment, orchestration, and operationalization of cyber security services focused on cloud environments, particularly Azure and GCP Design and implement detection mechanisms to identify and mitigate cloud security threats, including custom detections for new and emerging risks Manage cloud resource entitlements, configurations, and access controls to minimize risks and ensure compliance with security standards Oversee and monitor cyber tooling outputs, conduct spot checks for accuracy, and ensure effectiveness of security controls Develop and maintain security operation procedures, playbooks, and incident response plans Conduct research on security observability, vulnerability management, and container security to develop innovative defense strategies Coordinate with third-party cyber technology providers to ensure the BRP security stack is comprehensive and up-to-date Respond to security alerts and incidents according to established procedures, ensuring timely resolution Implement and enforce least-privilege access policies and manage identity and access management (IAM) protocols across cloud and on-premises assets Automate security processes using appropriate tools to maintain a robust security posture Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and new security technologies to enhance detection and response capabilities
